I'm would not risk my son's life to cure him. I think it would be better not to take the risk and live with a son who has Downs Syndrome because he was born unique in that way. I wouldn't risk his life by putting him through a procedure that might cure him.
Scenario 3
I would tell her to wait a little longer to see if she could get a donor. If she can't get a donor, I would tell her to go ahead and get the stem cell liver to save her. Having said that, I still struggle with the stem cell situation ethically.
